Disconnections..?
Am I the only one who experiences FREQUENT disconnections, where at the top right corner of the screen the 'R' keeps dropping down to 0 and bringing down the network connection until I eventually disconnect. Then afterwards it takes forever before I can get a nice, stable connection. When I try to get back too soon, the same thing happens. I'm on the Ragnarok server by the way. It's very annoying, and I can't seem to get any good help from the Support email thing.

I was having the same problems recently, ever since I set up the wirelss connection in my house. Apparently, wireless connections can be weakened by other electronics running throughout the house, such as cellphones and microwaves. If you are using a wireless connection in your house, I suggest connecting the router to the computer on which you are playing the game.

Nope.
I don't have a wireless network. I just now got kicked again on my second attempt to join.

I have the same problem. I'm not sure what the problem is. It might be my router. I tried upgrading it's firmware and instead of getting the 0 R, I would drop to 0 S instead. I've opened all the suggested ports on my router that the FFXI manual listed. Nothing helps.
Quite annoying, but only happens once or twice a night.

Lately, people around the California are having the R 0 problem. Do any of you live there?

I live in Ohio
The thing is, if I jump up and reset my cable modem real quick, and it sync's before the % reaches 0, everything will be fine and i'll start getting numbers in the R area.

I get it once in a while during high traffic game times, but not too often. It's just a lag spike, not your hardware. Happened to me 3 times in an hour once and then suddenly stopped even though I hadn't changed a thing. If you get booted 'cause of it, just re-connect and hope your team was decent enough to wait for you ;)

Well I live in Arizona, I don't know if that's close enough to be related, but, yeah, it is annoying. I've died because of this problem at the worst times imaginable... After getting a PT in Kazham... as a warrior, died and de-levelled on the ninja quest after getting the boot etc.. I never had this problem with any other game, maybe it's a problem with the servers.

This happens to me all the time. If I can unplug and replug my cable modem in fast enough, I can usually beat a complete time out (if it resets itself in time). Still, I've found myself dead by gobs more times than I can count because of connection issues. While I can see why things are as they are (to prevent abuse of the system and cheat death exp loss), I wish that disconnecting against one's will made the character leave the world immediately. Dying is a major setback even when I *can* avoid it. Being dc'd in battle and reconnecting dead, or dc'ing in hostile territory to find myself dead by aggro goblins is really just cheap. I realize people would soon be pulling the plugs to save exp, but for the legitimate cases, some change would be nice.
