I'd actually like to replace the current default sucky

Yes, they're a lot neater, and they're what I'm used to on fora.
Thumbs up.

I like those too. The lines are ugly. Boxes are pretty.

Yes, I like the nested boxes if it will keep track of previous quotes. Right now if I quote someone that's quoted someone else, I only get the second quote, and not the original quote as well. But then againI don't know if that's something that the boxed quoting can fix or even if it's operator failure.

I'm fine with either, as I'm used to both of them at different boards.

so how do u do the boxes? (sorry if thats a dense question)

Leeza
If we go to boxes I just might quit coming here. I do not like them one bit...no, I don't.
But do whatever you wish just the same. :)

Right now you can use the [qq=Chester]blah[/qq] tag to do the new quote boxes. If people really hate the quote boxes then I can leave it as an optional tag and leave the default as the sucky two-hr-tag quotes. I don't want to scare Leeza away.

Which is messy, once you have like 10 boxes stacked on top of each other, like you get in your user CP pages :p I think it's fine for the odd quote box though, since they don't all get clumped together everywhere :p

I was thinking about that too. It does look nicer, now that I see it.
Well, I'm not sure really.
EDIT: Neat, that tag is broken in IE. Top padding doesn't work. Thanks, Microsoft!
EDIT: There, see how you all like that. For reference, this is the first version:
