Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar question

Is it possible to remove the gray buttons on icons?

Uninstalling the shortcut bar, yeah :p

I don't actually know what grey button you're talking about :p

you've seen the shortcut bar right? well i'm just wonderin' the gray button so it looks like the icons in the quick launch.

Try a newer version of Office then (each new version seems to change it's UI slightly to look nicer than the previous and pretend it's actually a new feature, so I assume it'll apply here too), or remove the bar and stick the shortcuts you want in your normal shortcut bar/new shortcut bar.
