Question about subscription-please help!

I have a question you wise folks may be able to answer:
My boyfriend and I who live together want to play FFXI. Do we need to buy two accounts (for $13 or whatever it is) or can we just pay $1.00 more per month to add another character? My real question is, can we both play our characters on the same server, together (he on his laptop and me on my computer) with one account? Anyone know? If we can't play with one account but have to buy two, can we play with one software CD or do we each have to have our own CD Key too?

Advanced question: are there any other good online games anyone knows about where we could both play together with one account?!

No to one account playing two at same time, and to your other Q...no idea.

Like Lionx said, you need two accounts for you to be able to play at the same time.

I believe you can play DAoC with the same account on two computers, but I'm not sure. I just remember playing that game a grouping with some guy who was playing on both his melee and a healer.

If you want to play at the same time as each other you will need to buy another copy of the game, I'm pretty sure.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. Omecle is right, to have a second account, you'd have to buy a second game to get a different key code. Sure, it's a pain in the rear if you have someone living with you who also plans to play, but it's something they had to put in so you couldn't buy it and then just let your friends install it.

So that'll cost you another $50, and then the extra $12.95 per month. Not really worth it, but I think you figured that out.
