Month of the Newbie?

I'm noticing A LOT of threads about newbies lately. Does this usually happen in July? Is July the month of the Newbie?

To give this thread a purpose, what month did you join EoFF? I joined in December 2002.

They're like locusts. Rising up every year to consume the forum.

I joined in August. :D

I joined in May. I'd guess that most newbies join during the summer, since they're all looking for something to do. Throughout the rest of the year, they're bogged down with work.

I joined in August 2000. Around the same time Shlup registered, meaning we're like.... newbie buddies, or something.

I joined in April :)

Now that school and homework is gone, what ele will teens do but join a Final Fantasy forum? :p

I joined in March. Yeah, they usually are thick in July. Newbies tend to be born in early spring and reach maturity in mid-summer (like July) when they spread their wings and leave the nest to start joining forums.

I'm to lazy to click my profile to look. So I don't remember.

I'm an August kinda guy. Can an admin take a screenshot of registrations for the past twelve months? That'd be neat.

You can sort the Members List by join date. That would give you a rough idea.

From a (very) brief examination, it would appear that most newbies tend to join between May and August.

You can sort the memberlist by join date, but there's a stats thingy that shows you a daily/weekly/monthly registration tally in vB3's admin CP. For example, here's a snapshot I took of my weekly registrations since I re-started Aiyon's forums.

Bah. My solution has a low-tech, rustic feel to it. :D

They're obviously all second-accounts to keep us amused.

Wow, I would think people would join more during the winter and autum because everyone is on vacation in the summer and are busy with going outside and stuff.

Or at least, some people are. xD
