I think the editor meant "apologies" rather than "apologizes."

Well, they said the letter was lighthearted, so it's not altogether impossible they DID mean $1. I seem to recall a slander-case or something here in Sweden where the victim demanded 1 swedish crown (not much internationally, not much nationally, either) - most likely about setting things right.
Ah, okay. I should've known.
I've seen other reports of it, and all mentioned that it was $1. Better yet, check The Pantagraph directly.
yes yes we all know micheal moore lies to make his points, it's part of the reason he rarely changes anyones opinion but does reinforce those who allready agree with him.
