Not realy, the maximum you can get is 24, I think. I have 21.
currently, my clan's full; yesterday, i honorably kicked out one of my units and an Alchemist came in to take her place. i'm only a few steps away from unlocking all the Jobs.
ive got 15 in my clan :choc:
I have 1 for each race, plus the main guy, plus all the secret characters. I have some random characters but I don't use them for anything but jobs that require a specific job (for example, moogle jobs since you can't send out your friend moogle, his name escapes me at the moment).

My party is pretty much full. It has about 7-8 characters that I use regularly, all of the "special" characters (Montblanc, Ezel, etc.), and all of the "secret" characters (Littleville, Lani, etc.).
Ah yes, I have Lani as well. He's the moogle I send out. :D
I have 20. It's quite enough since the maximum is 24... :p
