easier or harder

this is following on from the brain thing :)

i think that doubble letters do the same as the first and last letter.Eg like the cc in according to pick up a word

if it was writted aoccindrg i feel it is easier to read. But if it was written acoioncrdg, it seems much harder and people get confused. anyone else think its easier/ harder?
