Why the chocobos?

How come when the user names are displayed, there are randomly colored chocobos next to you're name?????
I have a yellow one, but everyone else has a black one, no fair!!!

Yellow means you're online. Black means they're not. Shazam.

Yellow means that you're online and everyone can see that you're online. If it's black it means that you're offline. As A Cid's Knight I can also see red ones. :)

The red chocobos indicate people who are invisible on the list of people who are online.
