MG conspiracy?

im a huge fan of the metal gear games, and obviously they have are influenced on political issues. does anybody think the events or something similar are happening or happened, and the goverment doesnt inform us? probably not, because i would guess that they would stop the release of this game or do something, but who knows. im 14 and very open minded, so something similar may have happened, who knows? in my opinion. im pretty sure there was no lone soldier that took out a giant tank with his bare hands (and a stinger missle launcher) but i dunno. maybe they are developing gigantic tank things though. anyone got an opinion?

oh yeah, my friend was telling me aobut them at school. i wonder if everything is fake?

The DARPA (Defence Advanced Research Projects Association) is a real group; just like in MGS, they're responsible for R&D on advanced military projects. One of their current projects includes a kind of "powered exoskeleton", similar to the system used by the Cyborg Ninja in MGS.

Weapons such as Metal Gear are possible, but since one could be destroyed by a single bomb or cruise missile, they'd be too vulnerable to be worth the cost. Probably, anyway. Stealth technology is always getting better; in fact, the British army is currently working on an invisible army tank, using the same kind of principles responsible for James Bond's vanishing Aston Martin in Die Another Day.

There's a heck of a lot going on that we don't know about, so I guess anything could be plausible, within reason. I wouldn't even be too surprised by revelations of unethical experiments, such as the 'Les Enfants Terrible' project or the Genome Army.

DARPA are the folks that invented the DARPAnet, which would one day be known as the internet.

When I saw this thread, I thought, "It'd be funny if that meant 'Metal Gear conspiracy.'"
