The Answer is 42

can anyone tell me why this is?

well the scientists put all the data to do with the meaning of life into a machine and made it interpret it all to find out what the meaning of life was and the answer was 11 so they put it through the machine that was suposed to figure out what that meant it came up as 42

or so i have been told

Yeah, it's some random hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy joke that has been used so much that it's starting to become annoying.

aaaahhh, i see, it all makes sense now...

sorry to answer that question i'd have to build a computer the size of a planet. and you know planets soon enough they have monkeys crawling all over them it just isn't worth the hassel.
