It's a cool word. I think it should be spelled out.
I say vs...
vs>versus
best thread ever
Okay
...so tempted to just leave it as that (mock-age). Versus as a word is cool. But as X vs. Y it looks better being small and in the middle.
vs when paired with the two words, versus anytime else.
I hate you all.
I personally like v. like how it's used in Court cases.
Proto v. Thread, 2005
The plaintiff accuses the defendent for... blah blah blah. :blahblah:
I like vs. better.
Sorry. :(
In the law reports in my country, it's simply "v", with no full stop.
Donoghue v Stevenson, for example.
You don't even say "versus" in our law reports, it's "and". Quite nice. Only problem is, a case like Me v You is said as "me and you". Just a random trivial detail for y'all.
When v isn't appropriate, I prefer "versus". Full words are better than abbreviations, in general.
vs. It looks better then used between two words. But any other time, yeah Versus is better.
I remember going around asking 'Who are we versing?!' in first grade when I played baseball for the first time.
Versus.
versus. this thread is sheer Brilliance!
I go the extra step and just use nothing. It's much quicker.
Take, for example, the Ninja vs. Vampire thread, and apply my rule:
Ninja Vampire
See? The awesomeness is all round, and I didn't even get RSI.
I have grown quite fond of the legal way, just simply "v".
D, I didn't know that. =o That seems kinda silly. "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" is then a court case.
