The track is called "Breaking Through South Gate," in my opinion it's one of the most action packed songs on the soundtrack. Unfortunately it does not appear on the Final Fantasy IX Original Soundtrack though it was released on the complimentry soundtrack titled "Final Fantasy IX Plus." where it appears as track 7.
Though significantly shorter in length, it is my opinion that Final Fantasy IX Plus was a better album than the Final Fantasy IX OST.
Do you happen to have a list of tracks from the game that didn't make it into the regular soundtrack other than Breaking Through South Gate?
