Quina's Twister is random.
Most of status attacks are random (Bad Breath missed Goblin, and hit Meltigemini >.<)
And it seems like his Earth Shake is random, as well.

Because s/he is a wiggling blue... thing that has a long tongue.
Fork damage:
Base = Atk Pwr - Target's Def
Bonus = 1 ...Str + [(Lv + Str) / 8] - 1
Damage = Base * Bonus, or Base * [Bonus / 2] from the back row.
Twister damage:
Base = 55 (it ignores magic defense)
Bonus = 1 ...Mag + Lv - 1
Damage = Base * Bonus
Dunno about Earthshake. I forgot to test that it seems.
Status attacks are always somewhat random, but having a high level and high Spirit increases the success rate.
But that would look like it can do only tha same amount of damage to a monster but it can do different do a different monster.Quote:

Yeah. Type A Black Mages have 9 physical defense? Let's say Quina's Fork had 23 attack power.
Base = 23 - 9 = 14
Now let's say she's at level 10 with 18 Strength.
Bonus = 1 ...18 + [(10 + 18) / 8] - 1 = 1 ...20, so any number from 1 to 20
14 * 1 ...20 = 14 ...280, meaning Quina would do anywhere from 14 to 280 damage from the front row, or 14 to 140 damage from the back row.
Good. In case you're wondering, if character is left with no Bonus (like when they're in Mini), they'll do damage equal to their equipped weapon's attack power minus the target's defense. In Quina's case for that example, s/he would hit for 14 damage.
If the target's defense is higher than the equipped weapon's attack power then the damage will be equal to the Bonus, so Quina in that example would hit for 1 ...20 damage, or 1 ...10 from the back row.
