Crap, everytime I turn on the computer, my desktop is blank. There is nothing there. No program shortcuts, no taskbar, just my windows screensaver. I had to open task manager to get online. I have tried just restarting my computer, but no luck. What can I do?
Sounds like malware. Try an antivirus software or antispyware.
Also could be someone pulling a prank on you by hiding all of your icons. It varies how to unhide things based on each version of Windows, but in XP you have to open a folder and go to Tools > Folder Options, click the View Tab, and check the option that says "Show Hidden Files and Folders."
