I think thread have been getting a little too specific recently. I have sometimes been unable to answer a question that I would otherwise have no difficult answering, just because the creator of the topic has added an arbitrary requirement.
Has anybody noticed this or am I just crazy.

You'll have to list some examples, because I really haven't noticed anything like that.
Tje best thing that happened to me in a carpark, on a Friday, during lent was when I met Clint Eastwood and he called me Mark. :)

but the more widely you can define a thread topic the harder it is to go off topic!
