Parasite Eve 2
I finally got a chance to play it all of these years later. It's an alright game, but the battle system drives me nuts. I liked the battle system from the original much better though. The story is decent though. I liked the multiple endings as well. What do you think about the game? Did you like it? What do you think could've been improved?

I've only played PE2. I never played the original. I got too swept up in the new FFs. I rather liked the BS (battle system) in PE2. It was fine to me.

I'm not a fan of extreme real time battles and the way you move in battle. You know, how you could rotate Aya with the left and right buttons and then move forward or backward with the top and bottom buttons. That drove me nuts. Could barely move before having enemies attack. ATB forever. :p

I thought exactly the same thing when I started. In fact I totally hated it for the first hour or so, then I slowly began to warm up to it. Honestly I think in the end the game played out just as well with both systems, and I actually ended up liking Parasite Eve 2 more than the original. The desert town was just a flat out awesome gaming experience. I was seriously just happy that Aya ran faster than a three toed three sloth with severed limbs, as was the case in the first game.
Besides, there is an FMV of Aya taking a shower in 2, need I say more?

I still wonder if you could get some kind of mega-awesome item at the end of the game by having a certain number of items in your (several) inventories. Last time I played, the ending gave me some kind of item I would normally pick up. It was one of the useless ones. I never played again 'cause of the FF outpour, but I wish I could now.

Yeah, the game has lots of replayability, and by replaying you can acquire different items for the next playthrough including super awesome ones. It's worth the effort, and it's fun to unlock them.

I like the theme of the mitochondria giving Aya powers. My favorite attack? Combustion.

I loved the fist one much better, it had a deeper story, better action, better bosses, better battle system...the only thing that drove me nuts was the running (she was hyper slow) deal with that and you can love the first one!
number 2 felt too short, abit rushed..too resident-evil-esque! And it was set... either in the middle of the friggen dessert or some factory place that looks like re2's setting! It was ok but not that great!
i was more satisfied with the first one...I even got a kick out of the challenge that was the Crysler building, i finished that one remembering that each boss was a particular bitch especially the last one...which caught me off guard! to those who played it was (SPOILER)Maya....Aya's little sister!!!!! That side quest was fun in itself!

I didn't realise how completely different the Parasite Eve games were (meaning the difference between the first and second) until I played Parasite Eve (1) for the first time the other night. I didn't get to play much, but from what little I've seen of it, I think I already like it quite a bit more than Parasite Eve 2. For the record, I suck at that game. I died a lot.
What I like about Parasite Eve:
- Better story
- More recognizable antagonist
- RPG battle system
What I like about Parasite Eve 2:
- Scarier, given its more detailed graphics and RE-style gameplay
- The skill system. I had a lot of fun building my Parasite Energy abilities.
- Action/RPG battle system (yes, I like both)
I think the respective battle systems of each games were fitting. I also thought the desert and mines in PE2 were nice, unsettling locales for a survival horror game. Though RE has proved countless times that the city works just fine.

I've played both, and I think both of them are great. An RPG action packed game. Sweet. And to tell the the truth, even though I have played it, I never, ever want to play it again... ever!
Why, you ask?
Cuz I'm scared... I get really creepe out by those michocrondia whatever monsters... and Eve counts, too.
But, I'll play it again... when I get the courage to do so... i guess... :p

I never finished it cause I couldn't kill that damn tentacle boss after you the giant baby thing.
But I liked the game...I really need to get it again and finish it one of these days. I loved the first game to death.
