Well my first FF was 8 and it further increased my interests in final fantasy so I'll give it a ten.

i gave it a 7 its a good game but there are a few things that bother me sensles like a way to big love story and the part hmm whe all grew up together but dont remember wich was actually in my opinion totaly unnecesery for the story.

10 definatly. i loved FF 8!

Points lost for some very weak storyline areas, and some strange battle mechanics (cast quake anyone?)

Strengths:
Some of the best music in the series after FF6, great graphics, and I liked the Junction system. Also gets props for being the first FF I ever finished.

Weaknesses: Poor plot twists, main villian only revealed 3/4 of the way through the game, and lack of attention to the other main characters.

I gave it a 9, only reason it did not get a 10 was because I don't enjoy those dang card games. I wonder how far you can go in the game without playing a single card game... lol

10 means flawless. no game is flawless. it was a good game non the less. i gave it a 9 and i was being VERY generous. it is nowhere near my fav ff.

FFVIII was not flawless....the beginning started off very well, though at the last part of the 3rd-4th disc it tended to be confusing. Althoug the music was good, I didn't like the fact that somethings were so hard to level/upgrade....

I did like the card system....

Oh and IceT the reason why there might not be a '0' is because it wouldn't even have been made. Which would mean this topic wouldn't have even started...

So I gave this game an 8.5 because I did like it, but it wasn't as some of the older ones out there...
