am i the only one here that loves this genre of music
i listen to it here and there i think its good but i can't tell you any names. I had a friend try to get me into it he gave me a song it's like wait let me find it Armin Van Buuren - Shivers yeah that's the only one i know of. it is good though.
I like house stuff, dnb, "IDM".
~~*I listen to my share*~~
i listen to cross-bridging artists, so yes i guess you could say i do
eyeopener still is, after so many years, the best song ever.
I have a couple of hour long sets that I enjoy listening to, one from Luna C in san fran, and the other by a DJ D-minus.
yeah idm needs a better nameQuote:

My sis is all into House trance dance music
Im forced to listen, meh, Its ok......
In a word I despise that kind of music. I don't like the structure, I don't like the sheer noise, I don't like the way it constantly plagerisies other peoples work, I don't like the lifestyle associated with it, generally don't like people who put it as their favourite genre of music, and I wish I didn't have to put up with it.
it doesn't have anything to do with trance except they're all subgenres of the same thing.
i like the genre, but then again i like a lot of different music. i cant name names of any trace/techno artists though.
That's because the people that make techno music are all DJs, not artists.
I like it but Trance is the better of the 2
it's not that I don't respect this music... I just get sick when I think about techno or trance. I know alot of people that love this music, but I just don't like that it's not really coming from feeling like music from a true rock or blues artist or a guy like mozart.
I say this because when you're playing an intrument and you know what you're doing you can sort of feel what you're playing; a sort of warmth that resides somewhere in the chest area. In techno it's more like... a math equation.
Plus I don't even know if it's possible to write it out in musical notation. In my mind it would look like a purcussion piece.
And it doesn't really seem that fun to dance to. Maybe if you liked doing the robot or something. :)
Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin (Boards of Canada) are very much artists, but what they create isn't exactly techno.Quote:
