FF:CC and PSO may be the closest games to Dark Cloud gameplay. Maybe Star Fox: Adventures.

It's not something I'd recommend to everyone, but I have/had a blast with F-Zero GX.
You might also want to pick up Prince of Persia if you don't already have it for another console.
