ONE

Now I listen to all types of music but I've always wanted to know this. In most hiphop songs with various artists 'One' has become a popular phrase. I first heard it when listening to a Jadakiss song. (LOX CD.) Then I heard it on the Birdman songs. (Neck of the woods.) And finally 50 cent says it on his music video. (Outta control.) One... Such a popular phrase but it has to mean more than #1. Or does it?

Anyone know this popular insignia's meaning?

As did I with the terms "hood", "cap", "shizzle" and "marmalade". Then again I haven't bothered with hip hop since 1989.
