Sephiroth's Sword
Just by looking at the size of that thing, it's sure that he must have problems with it..
Someone knows where he puts it between battles? How he can draw it?
Since Most of the time the graphics doesn't give us a clue when he draws that sword of his...
-
im also curious but as most people are going to say, its a video game
-
Well the sepho you chase around the world is pretty much a ghost? no? A ghost in a video game...
Bipper
-
Well he was also using it when he was alive... and i don't thing square would be noob enough to make something like that : just saying "it's a video game" and don't exlpain it, because for us it is maybee a game but for the character in it, it is real. Now you might ask, What's the point?, Are you crazy?, WTF?, well they are creating a world at each Final fantasy, and i'm not sure they are noob enough just to make a world for us to call it that... it needs to be.... well you know, what a world needs to have...
What 'am trying to say is simple, i'm not sure they would make a side(or whatever) of the game unanswered...
-
to flare_cross: i'm pretty sure they would. lol.
maybe they just didn't want to make things complicated. also, with the graphics, they just want you to assume that he has a sheath. you can see him and cloud draw and sheath their weapons, but once they do it, they disappear.
u know what else you could ask? what happens to ur party?? when your walking around, you're only controlling cloud. say an event happens, you all of a sudden see your two other party members come OUT of cloud!!! oh my god what just happened! and uh oh, the event ended, so the characters decide to merge with cloud again! i wonder if it hurts, or if cloud feels uncomfortable...
lol sorry. i mocked you. i'll get serious now.
i'm pretty sure there was another thread that wasn't exactly BASED on this, but there was a discussion on it within the thread.
somebody (probably masamune1600) stated that it shows sephiroth when he sheaths his weapons at his side. just use ur imagination. you know, the sheath case thing doesn't have to be as long as the masamune.... it can just be like a collar that is enough to hold the masamune from falling off his side.
-
He may never even sheath his weapon. The only time I remember him taking out his weapon is when he was in his ghost element. Think about it though... to unsheth that thing you would need like a 7 foot span between both hands! Or at least a longer reach. ( I do not remember the exact length of the sword)

It's not exactly accurate to speak of Sephiroth as having had a "ghost element;" while it's often a debate as to exactly who or what the party was chasing throughout the first disc, there's no question that "Sephiroth" was physically present.
There's actually a much more pertinent question regarding the Masamune, which is how "Sephiroth" regained it after leaving it in the body of President Shinra. It could be argued, I suppose, that he was able to return for it, although that raises numerous questions.
I don't recall actually ever addressing the issue of a sheath for the Masamune before, although I would imagine that he had one. While there's no apparent sheath in the original Nomura artwork, it only makes sense to assume he had something of that nature. It's worth noting, I suppose, that Extremely minor, non-plot AC SpoilerKadaj can be seen with the Souba sheathed in AC screens. While that weapon is nowhere near the length of the Masamune, it's similar enough, I would say, to suggest some sort of a parallel.

Sephiroth doesn't even have a sheath for his sword......
Take the (SPOILER)Part where you meet Sephiroth in the burning Nibelheim in disc 2 for example.Notice Sephiroth in the photograph doesn't have a sheath. The sword is just behind his back. :p
-
Actually, that's not what's depicted in the photograph. As seen here, Sephiroth is holding the Masamune during the Nibelheim photo, as opposed to having it somehow strapped to or otherwise located behind his back. As he is simply holding the blade in his hand, it's impossible to make any sort of real judgment based on that picture.
Again, whether it involves using a conventional sheath or just some simple sling (or even something else entirely), it's logical to assume that he would have had some way of carrying the blade beyond holding it.
-
Logical enough:)
But the only way i've seen Sephiroth holding his sword was with the blade facing behind him, like in the FMV where he walks away from Nibelheim in the fire(Not sure bout' that)
-
he probbably has a sword case for it somewhere but its just a video game.
-
-
He downsizes the sword and places it into his pockets?
Thats......
ORIGINAL!
I LOVE IT!
-
maybe he's one of those circus freaks that can swallow a sword. that's a mighty long sword to swallow. and i'm sure it would hurt a lot. i guess you wouldn't be able to carry it around like that, though...
lol, you see sephiroth walking around completely stiff bodied, with a blade and handle sticking out of his mouth. LOL how does he see where he's going? *trips, falls, blade cuts open sephiroths insides, sephiroth dies, meteor was never summoned and nothing happens*

Good poing Massamune 1600, however, I don't think the sheith was used too often. Prolly just when he was shopping and running daily errands. In battle, it would be extremly cumbersome to unsheeth the sword. I am sure when emminant danger was near the sword was held at his side, as insinuated throughout the game.
I am more intrested in his ghostly essence though. Now this is raising a lot of flags in my mind. As was, the masamune more intricate to the story than we are led to belive? Why was no one else able to wield it? omg. Too much, too much.
It seems with FFVII there are never any easy questions.
