I was over at another message board and there was a thread about "What kind of gamer are you?"
The poster asked if people were "Casual, Mainstream, or Hardcore." Why must people feel the need to label things?
I put something like "It's self-righteous to label oursevles. As long as you are having fun, you are a gamer."
Abd someone got all offended and called me a mainstream gamer for that. And gamers wonder why the public doesn't take them seriously...

You know what is even more retarded. To label yourself a gamer. We are all humans here. Why be self-righteous and label ourselves anything else?
Placing the word hardcore in front of anything is a bad idea. When it's a word that most people translate as 'unsociable geek' then it's even worse.

I grew up on games and yet it takes a rare and excellent game to keep my attention anymore :D As for why? Because it gives people an idea of what you're like.
