Added effect materia

what does this materia do? in the discription it says "Adds Materia status to equiped weapon or armor" but what is materia status?

it's a status effect (such as poison, darkness, silence, sleep, death . . . etc) if you equip it to your weapon ur attack will occasionally cause the effect. this rate increases as the materia levels up. if you put it on ur armour it wll protect you from that status effect.

so its like elemental but with status then

elemental works the same but with magic like fire and ice and adds elements to attacks while added effect works with status effects.

Tip: early in the game, when you have an added effect materia, combine the materia with your choco/mog summon, and you can cause STOP to monsters that you strike.

Tip: also, if you combine elemental with the choco/mog someone, you're physical attack will do more damage to enemies that are weak vs wind, mostly flying monsters.

Try combining it with the Hades Materia in your weapon for some gnarly powers!
Or the Contain Materia to Stop, Confuse or Petrify your enemy.

Tip: Added-Effect & Hades in your armour is almost as good as the Ribbon.
