Too many letters to fit in the name box.
So. There are many game's that they would have a full name but then use say 4 of the first letter's... EX: Lunar Legend
You lost me there. My point is that character names in that game can only have five letters. Taking out the "h" in Chrono makes the most sense.
Meh. I guess. But say you played a game like I explained. His named would be chrono. If the battle limit was 4 letter's then in battle it will say "Chro"...
Which do you think sounds better? Crono or Chron?
Damn you. Chro would be his name in battle. But Chrono would be his full name. Don't get it??
Crash, the reason for the difference is merely that the character's name was Romanized as Crono. Both "Crono" and "Chrono" are acceptable Romanizations of the Japanese. As Crono is the Romanization that was used in Chrono Trigger, it becomes, until such time as SE makes a change, the official and intended name.
It's worth noting that the title, Chrono Trigger, does not refer to Crono (nor does Crono necessarily refer to the title). The prefixes "chrono-" and "chron-" are derived from the Greek; they refer to time. Given that Chrono Trigger revolved rather heavily around time travel, the use of "Chrono" makes sense. As regards the character, this obviously doesn't apply the same way.
Yeah but why not have crono have a name to do with time travel?? And I know what chrono has to do with. I read a manga called "Chrono Crusade" and it revovles around time aswell...
Something tells me they did it on purpose. Rather than have his name have to do with the title. (i.e. Crono Trigger would basically be like naming it "Crono's Adventure") They probably decided to make it more of an homage to the time travel thing and name him similar to the title rather than name him after the title. I doubt I'm making sense, but I know what I'm trying to say damn it XD
Happen's to me 88% of these forum's...
You make me LOL
And what if someone wants to name him something other than Crono?Quote:

They could've named him Chrno, just like Chrno Crusade. XD Chrono Crusade and Chrno Crusade are the same manga/anime, just translated differnetly. =/
But yeah, it probably just has to do with space in the names.
