What is double posting?

Like I said, what is double posting? Why is it bad?

It's useless/spammy and if you have to post more than once in a row to "bump", people obviously aren't interested.

Edit instead, or bribe people into posting.

This is an example of double posting.

Why is it bad? Because it looks messy when you see two consecutive posts from the same poster. The mods will get mad and have to delete one and edit the other with the message.

It's bad because people might use it to bump a thread of theirs that they didn't want to sink. Then they bump it again when it sinks again. Then they do it again. And again. And again.

Alternatively, it has the potential to end up being one person having a conversation with themselves in a single thread, which is dumb.

It's basically just bad netiquette, tis all. ;)

Oh. Okay. BTW, I am not new incase you're wondering.I've been here since June. I just saw people insulting someone because they double posted and I wandered what it was and why it was bad. Thanx guys!

When I was a younger, my mom used to tell me that drugs, alcohole and doubleposting are bad. :)
