Molly Malone.
So when did you first hear the sad tale of Molly Malone? I think her story represents that of Irish History very well. Poverty and famine, Ireland has gone through quite a lot, but when I first heard about Molly Malones story: "Crying cockles, mussels, alive, alive-o" I almost cried.
Molly was a fishmonger and everyday she walked the streets of Dublin, selling cockles and mussels, through rain or shine, til the day that she died. Some say that even though she's an "Urban Legend" she was in fact real... but who knows?
So, when did you first hear about Molly Malone?
