Im stupid. Help.
Is there a way I can get the background music from trailers or videos on my computer (with or without voices) converted into an mp3 so I can listen to the music from it on an mp3 player. Well to be more clear, is there an easy way I can do this? Thanks for any help you have.

You can open it in a video editting program (I don't know of any besides ones for AVIs though) and probably save the audio stream separately.
That or you can use kane's record from stereo mix.

For AVI files, VirtualDub gives you the option of saving the WAV stream, and from there you can use any number freeware/shareware audio converting applications to turn that into an MP3 file
File -> Open video file... then select your AVI file.
File -> Save WAV... to save the WAV stream.

can convert EVERYTHING to an mp3 file (but with voices)
think you can find it on "download.com"
