Saddam Hussein: The most lucrative autobiography book deal of our time.

I'm completely serious. You would read it, I would read it. Would it be filled with incoherent ravings? More then likely. Think about it though, the guy is languishing in prison while his trial is dragged out. Even if he got the death penalty (which is unlikely, he will probably just get life imprisonment) it would be several years and quite a few appeals before the sentence is carried out. So what else can a deposed dictator do? It sounds absurd I'm sure, but you must admit it's an intriguing idea.

Incoherent? Definately. The man doesn't speak, read, or write english. Or any language aside his own native. Methinks that would limit the readability. Because we KNOW a translator, any translator, wouldn't get it right.

So, no, I think I'd rather read something else.

He'd probably write the book because he feels completely justified. The publisher knows how well it would do, and they'd encourage him to put his side forward.

And I'd read it.

I doubt he'd write it himself at all. Any publisher with a good business sense would send someone in to have Hussein tell them all of the facts and/or fabrications needed for the book, and then have a decent author write it all out.

I would rather take-up reading Harry Potter.

Read a book by Suddam? Would that be listed under fiction, fantasy, or children's stories??? Oh, wait, my mistake, they have to be read by children, not written by people who act like children. And no, I wouldn't read it, because if I'm going to read a nonfiction book, I want there to be truth in it, and there aren't many books like that in the world. Which is why when I read books I usually stick to fiction and fantasy. At least those authors are honest about the fact that none of their stories ever actually happened. People who write these political books and autobiographies are always biased, and will always stack whatever unreliabe facts they can find in order to make themselves look valid. It's pathetic, really.

No one's ever written a "nonfiction" biography. Or autobiography.

I'd read it, but i do think there would be a lot of lies in it trying to defend himself, but it would be good to see into his mind :choc:
