hey look, a paladin shield question (groan)

so i've played through FFVI on the SNES, emulated, and bought it as Anthologies and never until this time through decided to get the paladin shield. maybe i'm just really impatient and have yet to fight 255 fights with it (it sure feels like i have), but i have some questions as to wether or not it's more complicated than that.

so... does the counter reset if you un equip it else or you die? cause i did Doma Castle with it, and while flying to the solitary island, Doom Gaze up and smacked Gogo around
and i have it on Gogo at the moment... since the FFVI page here says the paladin shield can be equipped by anyone except Umaro i can only imagine Gogo can still break the curse, but i could be wrong... so am i just really impatient or did i screw up somewhere?

You're just being impatient.

Try not to think that much and fight the 255 battles and get your reward. BTW, a ribbon will help.

Gogo cannot uncurse the Cursed Shield.

he can't? groan. also, i do use a ribbon... well then. time to switch characters and hope it doesn't reset the counter.

well if you were using Gogo, the counter never started... sorry buddy, but normally it doesn't matter if you unequip it or change characters so don't worry about that.

Just fight the battles on the solitary island. It really doesn't take that long.

well, i was on solitary island eventually. of course, it seems it was all for nothing. good thing i finally asked, or i could still be there years from now.

out of curiosity, why is it that the developers wouldn't let Gogo uncurse the shield? does anyone, besides the developers know?

Politicians aren't capable of lifting any curses.

I generally equip it on Sabin with a ribbon and it's uncursed before I know it.

Yeah, I was screwed over by that ‘Gogo can’t uncurse it’ bug as well. One of the main reasons I never got the Paladin’s Shield…

Because Gogo has a nice ass.

well, he's got that whole air of mystery that goes with a horrible shield that turns into a smokin' awesome one... also because i like the ability to edit his command menu, i think it makes him one of my favourite characters.

regardless, i just got it with locke. good stuff
