IGN got the chance to get their hands on the Japanese version of the game, you guys should check their preview.
They don't seem to think the gameplay is that bad.
Also, be sure to check the video section, the intro sequence is available and I heard it rocks as hell (but I'd rather not watch it right now) ;)
