Do I clear the monsters' "Rage" when running from them?

Can I run from monsters in this game, and still make them appear on The Veldt?
I'm aiming for an LLGC, so that I can take full advantage of the Esper boosts in the end, and I'd also like to clear the Rages. :)

They will usually appear as long as you fight them, run or no run. However, you can't actually get all 256 rages because there are 3 monsters who have rages, but are never activated on the Veldt. You can by hacking the Rom or using a cheating device, but if you could do that, then why not just add all 256 when you felt like it? Sadly, half the rages are useless.

...and a monster (pugs) who has a rage and is activated on the veldt,but does not appear in your rage selection screen.so all in all,there are only 252 accessible uncheated rages.

and to answer your question,yes,monsters will appear on the veldt even if you run away from them.
