Virus problem
K' some virus seems to have got on my system. My desktop now says Warning, spyware detected on your computer. and wont go away.
Accordin to Norton (which came with the computer, subscription ran out ages ago) its Bloodhound. Also, if I go online Norton goes BERSRK showing dozens of warning. Access to file was denied, cannot repair file, then access denied again. When I went on today, 2 downloads opened. Both trojans. This is really bugging me.

Apparently, Bloodhound is just the name Norton AV gives to a virus it detects but doedn't exist in the definitions. My suggestion is:
1. Disable XP's system restore. Otherwise it'll save virus in a folder you can't edit.
2. Try http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ and see what it says.

Well, I got this for blood hound.
Bownloads trojans and virus whenever you go online.
It will blow up your computer in 30 days!
Best remedy: Norton Antivirus
They have many forms so therefore you cannot fully identify one. In my case it was bloodhound.w32 -- it freezes up the computer.

Don't trust faqfarm.
You see, I know I'm right because I read it from Norton's site, not from some random site.

That housecall thing doesnt work. Its shuts down my computer.

The description I got for Bloodhound seems to fit fairly well. When I go online, it opens up other windows and starts trojan downloads.
EDIT - I found the files, but now what? Manually delete?
-
Can you list them or take a screnshot of the list?
-
Sure.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\lich.exe Trojan.Win32.LowZones.dm
C:\WINDOWS\system32\oleext.dll Trojan.Win32.Small.ev
C:\WINDOWS\system32\XPAgent.exe Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Agent.acr
C:\WINDOWS\uninstDsk.exe Trojan.Win32.Small.ev
C:\zdj.exe Trojan.Win32.LowZones.dm
Whatever that means...

Reformat and reinstall everything, you'd have been back up and running within hours instead of all this faffing about trying to remove it :monster: Well, that's the quick way if you're short on time :p
-
Yeah, remove them. Don't forget to turn off system restore before, though.
-
Right, but are the system files important? I dont want t o delete something that will wreck my computer. The zdj is an obvious virus.
-
They are all virus files that don't exist on a clean computer.
