FF Name Origin

Well this may be known to a lot of you already, idk, but I was just thinking about it so I thought i'de post it. Do you know how FF got its name? I heard it was because back in the day, Squaresoft wasnt doing too good, and werent making much money at all. They planned to shut down, but before they did, they made one last game, so they called it Final Fantasy because they thought it would be their last game. Little did they know, it would sell and become a very popular series lol :D . Pretty ironic right?

That's pretty much how it happened iirc.

Yeah, FF was their last shot at making it. If it hadn't sold well Square would have gone under. Kind of makes you wonder how the game industry would have turned out had things gone that way.

Yeah, that's pretty much what happened. That's when they realized they have the potential of making awesome RPGs
