OMG, POSSIBLE THEORY W/ MASAMUNE

It mentions that in 1005 AD The Masamune was stolen from Guardia Kingdom then in 1006 Wazuki is consumed by fate (creating Lynx) something I never thought of that could be possible is that the times are off and Wazuki stole the Masamune!! (We see Lynx pick it up after Karsh kills Dario and hes not driven mad by it. Like the game mentions the Masamune draws out the hopes and dreams of it's bearer. It's been made pretty clear that FATE's only real concern was that it's existance and the chronopolitans would last until at least 2400 AD ((when FATE was destined to be built)) to ensure they would exist to be drawn back to 7,600ish BC to defeat the dragon gods and Dinopolis that the planet draws back to counter the drawing back of Chronopolis by Lavos! Thus ensuring FATE's existence)

So right after Lynx is created he and Harle (who was created by the dragon gods in FATE's shutdown to steal the flame) try to convince Lucca to release the Promethius lock on FATE (As Lynx is fate incarnate). They burn the place and the Mastermune (which is the Masamune with the added sister spirit Doreen created when beating Dario and Masa/Mune say they feel like they woke up from a bad dream) sends Serge and 2 friends back to Save Kid and a few children

Now because FATE was already around in Serge's time and Serge messed up it's hold on things and caused a time split, and FATE knew this would happen (thus sending Lynx to eliminate him) it could make sense to say that Wazuki took the Masamune and FATE's hope was an evil one it turned the sword evil!!

possible you think or am I just crazy?

I never thought the masamune sword changed from what it was in Chrono Trigger. Think about what Glenn/Frog wanted and what the sword was able to give him.

The power to defeat and possibly kill Magus(interrupted by Lavos). Someone he hated for killing his best friends. We just don't get to see that the sword made him act that way because he already had that strong desire.

Agree and disagree. I agree that he already had the desire to kill Magus. I don't believe that the sword made him act that way.
He had the desire long before he weilded the Masamune. As I said the game states the sword draws out the hopes and dreams of its bearer.

Again, not saying my theorys right

but about the sword I don't think it made frog have that desire. My thoughts on this when I started thinking about this was that if FATE's hope was to get rid of Serge for accessing the frozen flame and causing the time split and although she may not dream her programming was to be the guide and protector of the humans (I know that she was a suped up version of Motherbrain from CT but I'm not 100% positive that Lucca and Belthesaur created FATE but they did install the Promethius circuit which we know is Robo's programming. He actually says something to you in Cross I think).

I think Frog's will to kill Magus was for justice more than revenge. I think he really was a good person at heart, how he always sacrificed for the greater good. I mean he put himself in exile for feeling that he had failed people. And Magus had done a lot of bad things. But it's true he wasn't present at the trial of Masa and Mune to see if the person was good at heart. But why would Melchoir design an evil sword and then reforege it for your party who he knew were pure of heart (they saved him from Mt Woe so he knew they were good ((did he give them the red knife??)) and if the sword gave desire to kill they why didn't Chrono go mad when they brought Frog the Masamune) CC impied that the sword (which even looked more evil) drove the the bearer against their will. Karsh didn't want to kill Dario, (they were best friends I thought?), he was mearly jealous of Dario getting Riddel and a little pissed that he didn't. But nothing you'd ever want to kill a best friend over. (Doesn't Dario have the sword first and felt it drive him mad so he told Karsh to kill him?? If so then the sword was evil and was driving him to evil as it drove Radius. But Frog wa never going mad) Also possible (not sure but just throwin out the idea) that the sword was still in FATE/Lynx's possesion when they found it on the Isle of the Damned. He might have even sent both party's there to eliminate Dario (a super good guy who I think was a dragoon and Lynx mysteriously appers out out of nowhere and picks up the sword after advising Karsh ((but could have killed him there I suppose, maybe thought (MB had AI and all) that when her and Serge/co met she would win)) And Garai (Also good dude and another excellent warrior and I think dragoon)who might have either got in her way or helped Serge had they been alive (Didn't it say in the game she can like...look across time or something?? If that is true then maybe she knew one of the two above. Plus she knew Serge was the key to accessing (its either the Dead Sea itself or Chronoplis itself, or the frozen flame or somethin...had a long day at work can't think straight:) ) So she stole his body to do one of the above. But If my theory was right and Lynx stole the Masamune then he could have placed it on the Isle of the Damned under his will and just told Radius/Garai Karsh/Dario to go there when he put it there with ill intentions (He was in league with Viper and all).

I was gonna say more but I'm to tired to think. Let me know what ya think cause I could be wrong about somethin

It's ok, but we don't know nothing from masamune destiny from 600 (frog's time) to chrono cross time (1027, I think) also, like already say, Masa and Mune say Doreen they woked up from a bad dream, maybe they got hatred feelings from the surroundings, giving them the power to drive crazy anyone.

No considering Masamune is not the true name of the weapon but more of a translation adjustment you could say. It should be Grandlion...I think.

Always thought it was Grandleon but I guess it could be translation differences
