Shoelaces.
Am I the only person in the world that steps on his own shoelaces? I do it all the time. I do a lot of running around, walking around, shuffling around, stepping around, climbing around, travelling around, dodging around, moving around, jumping around, and basically getting around at work. During all this around-ness, my laces always slip under one shoe or the other and I loosen them. I haven't tripped yet because of them. I do trip every now and then, though. That isn't quite relevant. The few people at work that I've conversed with on the problem tell me that they hardly ever, if at all, need to stop pushing the freight or working an aisle to re-tie their laces. So, I'm wondering if I am just incapable of tying a shoelace.
How do you tie your laces? If you deem your shoe-tying skills commendable, please share your secrets here! I've thought about it, and there's three good ways that you can do this. You can:
a) Take pictures of you tying your shoes, step by step!
b) Draw diagrams of how you tie your laces, in a procedural pace.
c) Make a video of you tying your shoes, with hot, spicy close-up action on your laces. You can even say aloud all the steps as you do them!
Thank you guys.
And don't give me that velcro crap.

How to tie your shoes in 10 easy steps!
First, you need shoes. It does not matter if they match or not.

Now, as you'll notice, each shoe has two ends to the shoestring. It really really helps if they are the same size, though not necessarily required for todays experiment.

Now you need to put one lace over the other. It's not too important which one you choose, but only nazi's and non-shoeless hobos cross the right one so put the left over the right.

You'll notice that beneath where you crossed the laces a hole has appeared. This is a good thing. Cross your left shoelace over the right one and push the end through the whole. Now have the end reach back up for the sky. Hooray!

Pull tight. Now, you'll notice that mine seems to veer off to the left. That is not a good thing. You want it tight right in the middle of your shoe. I did that on purpose to show you what not to do. I am a very brave man when it comes to tying my shoes and am well prepared for the dangers involved in this kind of method. Being a beginner you'll want yours right in the middle.

Now that we're halfway through things get tough! Don't be jaunted by this. Many gave given up at this step and have had to walk away morose faced and defeated. Just keep trying and you'll make it.
What you need to do next is take the lace that is now on the left side and turn it into a loop. Not a round loop like a ball, but more in the shape of soap. Some soap has square edges but let's not think of that now. We need to concentrate on the other soap. If it helps try thinking of soap that has been used slightly before.

Take your other shoelace and place it over the loop right now quick before it's too late!

Next you'll have to have to bring the very same shoelace underneath the loop you just went over. Why, you may ask? Why do I have to go over there when I just brought it over here? Trust me, you'll see. It's really very exciting!

You'll now notice that you have made a hole between your shoe and the lace you brought over the loop. Carefull now, this is where it gets tricky. Take the middle of the shoelace you've been working with and begin to push it through the whole. Be sure not to push it too far. You don't want the end to come out!. Only push it from the middle of the lace to about a quarter of the way down. Study this picture closely for details.

You now see that the lace you pushed partly through has formed a whole second loop of it's own. Grab this loop towards the knot in the middle with some fingers. Do the same with the other loop with different fingers and pull tight.

SUCCESS!

and are the spawn of satan.

bare foot or sandals - with socks!
Just tuck the laces in, seriously, mine are thread so complicatedly there;s only about three inches to tie up anyways, so i just tuck em in, and it;s not that uncomfortable, but undone shoelaces are rocking me

oh and I don't tie my shoes. I just tie knots and the end and burn off the excess lace.

I just double tie my shoelaces and slip my shoes on and off without ever untying them. It's a practice I've been using for years, and I probably only have to retie the shoes every couple months. It's convenient, easy, and works perfectly well.

This is why Vizzy Laces was invented.

I tie my laces the normal way, but tie the knot behind the 'tongue' of the shoe. That way you can tuck in your laces and not trip over! :p

i straight-lace my shoes, so i don't have to tie them. :D
