What about warriors?
I liked the Red Mage better.
I always prefer the physical fighters. I only played once through this game and never used a monk. So this was my favorite and strongest class
Three words: i liek sw0rds!!!1111 :D Seriously though, Fighter/Knight is a tank. Great attack power, the best defence in the game, high HP and he gets some white magic too. Since the enemies seem to like targetting your top character the most, you should always put Fighter/Knight as the first character in your formation so that he can take hits instead of your other party members. He's not too good against a large group of enemies, though.
The best thing about fighters is that, they have a lot of HP, wears heavy armor, and usually take hits of 1. Plus they are the most targeted character, because i don't see someone giving his fighter not to the top. Though i prefer to make use out of mages i still think Fighter is a good shield. I mean valuable member of Light Warriors who uses swords ^^'.
I'm pretty sure that the four light warriors you picked were equally the main characters...meh.
White and Red Mages ftw.
RED MAGE
One of my most effective parties consistented of Fi/Fi/Fi/WM. Do the math. They are effective fighters, great tanks, and look pretty cool.
If you're planning to make threads about all of the leading males from the various Final Fantasys, there is none for 1.
The Warrior is the tank, and every good adventuring party needs a meatshield. He's in front not because he's more of a main "character" than any of the others. He's in front because he's not going to go down as easily as some of the softer members of the party.
RED MAGE
I like having Warriors because they have great defense, however I like Monks more because of their offensive power
I like warriors, but it's to expensive to have more than one. unless you enjoy hours of random battles. White mages were my favourite, white magic and relatively good HP, loved it.
You can find most of the best equipment inside treasure chests, so pretty much the only things that will become really expensive for the Fighter/Knights are the Mythril Swords in Elftown and the armor that costs 45,000 gil in Melmond. The former can be done with leveling up, especially if you use the Finger Point, and I usually don't get the armor in Melmond anyway since you'll get some better armor relatively soon.
