Xbox Live Setup Help
They say Xbox live is easy to setup...... yeah right.
How I am doing this:
I took my ethernet cable from my PC and and plugged it into my 360. (I have comcast high speed internet and the 360 is directly connected)
Then, I took my proper IP codes and DNS codes and punched them in to the 360
Test Connection:
Network was found and said wired.
IP address passed.
DNS Failed
WTF!!!! none of this more info bull helps. It lists things that i have already done, and none of them work. And im not buying anything else except an Xbox live gold 3 month pack. Bill Gates has enough of my money. He's even trying to tell me that right now by sending various error messages and randomly shutting down my mouse and keyboard.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Forget it i fiddled around with it and found a problem. Someone can close this now.

You need a router in order to use your computer and Xbox online, unless you want to make your computer a gateway, in which case you need to have an extra ethernet port. The simplest way though is to get a router. The router's DHCP service will automatically assign an IP to the Xbox, as long as you have it set to Automatic.
Check out some Linksys routers. You can find some very inexpensive ones online.
