I agree. It was interesting to see bands trying to sound independent of each other at first, but now they all sound the same.
Indie= Garage music.
There's nothing wrong with garage music, though.

Indie has always been boring; that's why they had to expand the definition and shoehorn in any band with clean guitar settings or off-beat chord stabs to get anyone to listen to it. Still, I suppose it beats calling them post-garage-punk-core or something.

It's a shame that indie has gone from meaning artists who release music away from major labels to a genre which includes weak guitar work and boring, unenthusiastic vocals, generally released into the mainstream by major labels.
Which bands usually fall under this genre of Indie, just to make it clearer.
Any bands that aren't rock, pop, rap, or weird.
I guess something like The Smiths or Iron and Wine?
