south figaro problem

ok, so i tried to play this game without using the walkthrough but only found out it was a bad idea.

i'm at the part where theres 3 different scenerios. theres one with the river and the raft, protect the old guy scenario, theres the sabin scenerio, than theres the locke scenerio where he rescues celes. well yea, i'm doing the locke scenerio. i happened to somehow skip the boss "tunnelarmor?". i was suppose to fight him somewhere in the passage but since i didnt use the walktrhough i just found another way and walked out of town after celes asks locke "why are you helping me?" and locke answers "because you remind me of someone". after that i just left the town thinking thats what i was suppose to do. but really i was suppose to fight the boss and end the scenerio. now everytime i try to get back in town im blocked in every single possible way from those stupid empire guys.

help please
