tantarian

i was just wondering whether you defeated tantarion(big book) on disc 2,3 or never, i always defeat him on disc 2 but a lot of sites ive been on says never battle him on disc 2 as he is way to hard

He was easy with Steiner.

I beat him on disk 2 most of the time I play through... but if I feel lazy I will wait till disk three that way there is no time limit. The only real reason to beat it on disk 2 is so you get the running shoes earlier which allow everybody to learn auto haste.

It use to always be Disc 3, but only because I used to physically attack Tantarian, rather than use Magic, so doing it on Disc 2 was a lot tougher. It's possible to beat him on Disc 2 if you stick to Magic, but then you've got to watch out for the timer.

I was hardcore, I did him on Disc 2, but only after powering up Thievery.

funny, i found him easier on disc 2, i had steiner attack with his magic sword with vivi, zidane healer, i had vivi use bio via oak staff, i forgot wat freya did :P

btw, i did not cheat for the oak staff, it is obtainable on disc 1 through chocobo hot and cold (the only chocobo game in any ff i like)

well youre supposed to find him in disc 3 during the attack on alexandria... in the library the farthest left bookcase.

ive never really tried. i think i should next time i play through the game though. ive never beaten tantarian or ozma (ive beate hades but thats not much to brag about.) and i intend to. the only problem is that my disk 2 is broken and i need a new one.

I fought it on Disc Three. Killed a damn killer book for no reward...though I don't no why I was surprised.

Same here.

I'm not totally sure, but I think it was on Disc 2 when I beat him. I mean, when I got to the Alexandian Castle on Disc 3, I usually just head straight to rescue Dagger and Eiko. It took me quite long to even realize you can explore the Castle after you've landed there.

I've always beated Tantarian on disc 2. Or then when you have the first chance to do it. I think it's pretty tough. I have to use at least two elixirs every time. I didn't know you can beat Tantarian on disc 3. Shame. I've had Amarant, Zidane, Vivi and Freya everytime with me in that battle - is there even possible to have other characters?
