xbox 360
anybody having...i dunno...hardware trouble with your xbox 360? just trying to get a feel...seems on the internet a lot of people have trouble with the machine, especially if they bought it at or around launch. does anyone know if they did make any adjustments to the hardware? ie ver. 1.1 or the like?

Had the three red lights happen to me last week. It turns on, but I don't get a signal. My brother called Microsoft and by the looks of it, either something overheated or the internal part of the power supply blew out. The guy said not to use a surge protector to plug the 360 in through because the power supply already has one built-in. They're going to send us a box to put the 360 in and ship to them (for free). The repairs will be free as well.
I got the 360 in March, but the build date was Jan. 18, 2006. So not the very first batches, but very close.

I got mine in January, and it's still working fine. The only problem I've noticed is that the vertical/horizontal sensor seems to be a bit wonky--sometimes it puts the "Player 1" light in the "Player 2" quadrant, as if the system were laying down, but I always keep it vertical.

My first 360 had a hardware failure after just one week of gaming. I didn't even play on it that much before it gave up on life. I didn't bother getting it repaired and opted to get a refund instead.
I'll probably buy one later on this year.
