The Information

Picked this up this morning, and the first impressions aren't great. It'll almost certainly grow on me, but at the moment the whole thing just seems too long; a couple of the songs (Strange Apparition, for example) could probably have been dropped in order to raise the overall quality. The best part of the record is definitely the middle third (Nausea through to No Complaints) if you ask me. The rest of it's pretty decent without ever being brilliant, but the overall package just hasn't quite got to me yet. Like I say, this'll probably change after a few listens, but after Guero made such a great first impression last year, I can't help but feel a tad disappointed by my first experience of The Information. Stickers are pretty cool though. :D
