What rules are there on your school/uni/work computers?
These are the computer rules for my school:
I think these get broken so often that they're a joke.Quote:

I haven't even read te rules, but I'm allowed to connect my laptop to it. There are even wireless LANs covering the entire campus. My guesses would be it's illegal to break copyright laws and download pornography. Personally I've put both mIRC and Firefox on the storage area for my account, so I can access it from any computer.
That's incredible. When I was at school (six years ago), we had virtually no rules, except for the obvious "don't download pornography, please" that was plastered all over the classroom walls in huge, red letters.
Come to think of it, are you even allowed to use the computers? :p
The only computers I use at my school are at my work, and I'm basically the tech for my work since I'm the only computer nerd, so the rule is "Don't piss me off."
WARNING: Some experts believe that the use of any keyboard may cause serious injury. Consult statement on the back of this keyboard.
Meh, all the computers at my school are monitored, so I basically can't do anything except work. There is one computer that I know that isn't monitored, but a kid hogs it and plays some peinguin MMORPG on it. -_-
THERE'S A PENGUIN MMORPG?! SIGN ME UP.
My high school had many of those rules. Basically it was a "nothing that is not school related" policy, and so many filters it wasn't funny. (I could still get EoFF, though. ;) )They also were forced to enact a no E-mail under any circumstances rule after about the fifth time viruses took out the network. :rolleyes2 Most were ignored, and I was friendly with the teachers in the computer lab so I could get away with breaking most of the rest. :D
My college has "no porn, no video, no Myspace, and nothing unrelated to school" policy in the library lab. The first three are actually enforced, as are obvious violations of the latter. The labs in the Buisness building are pretty much unmonitored, though. :cool:
high school:
* filters that are way out of line
* no instant messengers of any kind
* cannot save within desktop
* no food or drinks in the area
* download feature blocked
* keep all voices down
* cellphones must be on vibrate
all i really hated was paying a dime a page for printing and the silly filters.
