Oh silly Ocelot, no continues? ... O RLY?

There are spoilers for Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes ahead, and I'd assume they are spoilers for the original Metal Gear Solid as well.




When you are captured and Ocelot tortures Snake, is Ocelot serious when he says there aren't any continues? The mini-game is hardly a challenge, and I already know how to get out, but my curiosity is boundless.

I had gotten quite far in the game without saving much, and I remembered this because Psycho Mantis commented on my being reckless. I knew I couldn't use auto-fire, courtesy of Revolver Ocelot.

He is indeed serious.

He isn't kidding. I was replaying after beating it about five times, and I spent about an hour or so getting to that part. I never saved once, and didn't really think to. However, I happened to sneeze when I was doing that part and dropped the controller. :(

I was unhappy.

Yeah. You have to continue from the last save. By the way, what you do there determines which ending you get, so yay.
