i bought a PS1 memory card and tried to save some FF6 data onto it. a message came up saying.
"memory card not formatted. would you like to format it?"
wheni choose the yes option the message says.
"memory card formatted" or something like that.
then when i try to save. it still doesn't work and repeats the "memory card not formatted."
im just about to try saving some data from another game to see if that works.
im certain its a PAL memory card. any advice?
Is it an actual Sony memory card, or a third party knockoff?
its a sony which is a type i've never used before.
i tried it on soul reaver 1 and the same thing came up but when it tried to format it, it said "invalid memory card."
is there a way to make this card work or will i have to get a new one?
Try opening it up on the system's browser and deleting all of the data from it manually. If that doesn't allow you to save afterwards, it sounds like you're memory card's defective.
it wont even show up on the system browser.
Looks like you have a defective card as the Playstation can't even read it. That would explain why it keeps asking to format it on your game. It's trying to make it accessible.
damn. well thanks anyway.
i guess i'll have to buy another one and hope it works.
