Just another remake opinion.

First off, I have several gripes with the tech demo if that was a actual game. First, the truck in the intro looked awful with all those rivits allover it.

Second, standing in line to fight looks smurfing stupid.

-I'd rather a overworld, done with cleaner looking models, but a chibi 'first character' running around a rather featurless world. (Except mountains, deserts, and other major features. And cities.) All models in this view would look chibified to save on poly's. Maybe even sections of the world if there are too many poly's already. A proper XII style camera.

For battles, I'd like a screen like the battle screen from X-2. Hell.. make it totally like X-2.

Inside cities should be handeled like X. Large open areas, few loading points. Same for inside buildings.

The stars in the opening sequence looked horrible. I mean.. in the first release they made suggestive shapes! The 'stars' were cut in screentime by several seconds!
