As requested, here is the mini-bio of the five candidates applying for the role...

Candidate 1: Uncle Big Hands
Mining Experience: Ex-girlfriends have reported that this candidate is extremely adept at digging holes for himself.
Strengths: Has big hands. A clear advantage over people with small or medium-sized hands.
Weaknesses: Has small feet. This causes issues with balance. Although he can buy children's shoes which are cheaper.
Greatest Personal Achievement: Is able to perform the American National anthem using only a piece of cardboard and his anus.

Candidate 2: I'm my own MILF
Mining Experience: Has watched famous 'mining' film Armageddon more than ten times.
Strengths: DIY. Once constructed a sex swing in under an hour.
Weaknesses: Compassion. Spent an afternoon on a mental health helpline and six people committed suicide.
Greatest Personal Achievement: Was narrowly defeated at chess to a highly sophisticated piece of machinery. The hoover won in 57 moves.

Candidate 3: Pike
Mining Experience: Has occasionally used the subway.
Strengths: Dedication. Has spent approximately two-thirds of her life playing Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.
Weaknesses: Has precisely zero skills for this role having spent most of her life playing Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri.
Greatest Personal Achievement: Successfully stalking Sid Meier for two years undetected.

Candidate 4: Freya
Mining Experience: Saw a mole once.
Strengths: Is able to talk to animals. Unfortunately, just in English...and they don't understand a word.
Weaknesses: Singing. Once sung the majority of ABBA's greatest hits in a karaoke bar.
Greatest Personal Achievement: She can eat an entire sugar doughnut without licking her lips.

Candidate 5: The Space Pope
Mining Experience: Pope's are natural miners as they are already quite "holey"... (sorry, I'm struggling now...)
Strengths: Endurance. Is able to watch the film 'Pearl Harbour' in its entirety without falling asleep, crying or vomiting.
Weaknesses: Struggles to keep his clothes clean due to his insistence on wearing white robes.
Greatest Personal Achievement: Has inappropriately touched over twenty choirboys.

As you can see Captain, most of these candidates are vastly over-qualified for the role. If required, the board will once again approve the use of trained simians.

And finally, we have Loony BoB, joined by the lovely smittenkitten. They both look goofy in their tinfoil hats, but his room is not only full of guns, but he also have his computer so he can stay updated at EoFF during the apocalypse or play games with smittenkitten while they hide from the zombies/aliens. Better prepared than sorry, huh?
