Would the "red oversized" be the Galbadia Garden? I'm thinking it has something to do with when you fight Edea and Ultimecia isn't possessing her anymore. Like everyone forgives her and stuff and remember she is matron.

The "red oversized" is not Galbadia Garden, and Edea and Ultimecia are not involved.
Red oversized must be Ragnarok then? But I can see lots of things about the past that would fit with the Ragnarok :(
Not the Ragnarok. :)
I may be taking an unusual understanding of your use of the word "past" or even "mistakes" for that matter, but could it be when you enter the prison cell in Ultimecia's castle and you have to defeat the Red Giant to get the key in order to escape?
I anticipated that guess, but sadly that is not the answer I'm looking for. The "red oversized" is not the Red Giant, despite the epithet being fitting.
Is it D-District Prison?
Nope!
The last 2 lines make it seem like its referring to an item dropped by some monster?
Or could it be Adel and the Time Compression event right after beating her?
It's not an item dropped by a monster, but you're not entirely on the wrong track with that.
It's not Adel and the TC event.
Is the Red-oversized the Lunar Cry?
No. Do you want a hint?
Yassir.
is the red oversized Esthar, and is it the item you can use to make G.F.s forget abilities?
Mistakes of the past
are quickly neutralised <---- you can simply use that item to make G.F.s forget abilities.
The solution amassed <---- you can buy it infinite times...
from one red oversized <---- in esthar.
HintThe "mistakes of the past" are very much subjective if they are mistakes or not.
Edit: The "red oversized" is not Esthar, and the answer is not Amnesia Greens.
