The disadvantage with not being from America is that you don't get a 'feeling' that a place is Southern. That round damn near ruined me.
Perhaps so, but the converse is also true: I didn't get a 'feeling' that the church was French. I was close to guessing several places in England (even as far north as Scotland!) which would have ruined me had I not found the window in Carcassonne.
